|Senior IT Security Administrator|

|Responsible for testing, documenting, evaluating, remediating, and improving internal IT audit controls for effectiveness and operational efficiency. Collaborates with internal and external audit teams, IT management, business units, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance project deliverables are met.|
|Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in information technology, computer science or a closely related field and six years of experience in developing, implementing and/or administering system security standards and procedures. Substitution: Graduate study in computer science or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years. Full-time paid experience in developing, implementing and/or administering system security standards and procedures may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A CISSP certification may be substituted for one year of the required education or experience.|
|The examination will consist of a written test weighted 40% and an oral test, including a written exercise, weighted 60%. The minimum passing score on each test will be 70% unless determined otherwise by the Director of Human Resources. Candidates must achieve a passing score on each test to be eligible to compete in each subsequent test and to have their names placed on the eligible list.
The written test will assess candidates' knowledge, skill and ability in areas such as operating systems, servers, networking and programming concepts; security and governance frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL and NIST; security terminology, approaches and issues, including disaster recovery; IT security risk management; and security program development and management.
The oral test will assess candidates' knowledge, skills and abilities in areas such as those listed above; management; supervision; and oral and written communication.

WRITTEN TEST: The written test will be administered on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago at 100 E. Erie, Chicago, IL. Candidates should report at 9:00 a.m. with the approved admission letter and a driver's license or other form of photo identification. Calculators will be provided. The use of books, study guides, cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops or other aids during the test is prohibited.
ORAL TEST: The oral test is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2018. Candidates who pass the written test will be informed by email regarding the time and place of the oral test.
|Appointments will be made from an eligible list with three categories: A (Exceptionally Well Qualified), B (Well Qualified) and C (Qualified). Candidates in the highest category will be given first consideration for appointment. This examination is also being given on a Promotional basis. In instances where both Original Entrance and Promotional eligible lists result from an examination process, it is the District's practice to appoint only from the Promotional eligible list until all the names from that list have been considered. The eligible list has a duration of three years. Appointment is subject to successfully passing a physical examination, a drug test, and a criminal history background investigation. |
